What is the difference between working and burst pressure?
Working pressure is the pressure you can operate with for a given specific type of tube. The burst is usually, depending on material, 3 to 4 times the working pressure and is the amount of pressure a tube would be able to withstand if there were a pressure surge on the air line. Both the working and burst pressures are given at specific temperatures. Ours are stated at 75F and 150F.
Can I use your tubing/hose for breathing under water?
No. Breathing underwater requires a certain type of certification that we do not offer.
Is your tubing flexible?
Four of the most common physical properties considered in the tubing selection process are flexibility, kink, resistance, and clarity and color availability. The OD, ID and wall thickness will impact these properties. Considering most of our tubing is flexible, the best way to fully understand the difference in flexibility and kink resistance is to compare samples.
Do you extrude silicone?
We do not have the ability to extrude silicone.
Are your products plenum rated?
None of our products are plenum rated.
Is there a difference between durometer and flexibility?
Flexibility is a subjective characteristic, impacted not only by durometer but also by the bend radius (which is a function of wall thickness and material properties). In other words, a softer durometer does not always equate with higher flexibility.
I need a tiny tube, smallest in diameter, to maintain its shape but easily bendable at the same time. What is the smallest diameter of these kind of tubes if you have it?
We recommend looking at our 1/8” OD x .066” ID polyurethane tubing. It is available in a variety of colors. It will flex very easily and return to its original form when released from the bent position.
Do you have a sterilization process for your tubing?
Our products are industrial grade products and we do not have a sterilization process.
Do you have a sample bag of your tubing that I could purchase and review?

Do you carry polyurethane tubing with O.D of 8mm and I.D of 6mm? Is the super soft nylon tubing as soft as the polyurethane one?
The soft nylon tubing is firmer than the polyurethane tubing we produce. We offer a 95A Durometer polyurethane tubing in 8mm OD x 5mm ID in a variety of colors. This product works very well with push-in and barb fittings. If you require 8mm x 6mm tubing it would be a custom extrusion. We would need to know if 95A polyurethane is the preferred product. We would also need the required color and purchase quantities you would require.
Do you carry tubing that is rigid but also flexible and can operate at temperatures of 200F and have a .25" ID and thin wall?
To answer this question, we would need to know a few more details such as: what will be running through the tubing? What is the external environment for the product, do you know what type of fittings will be used, what is your stiffness requirement? Email us these details and we'll recommend a tube for you.

We offer a flexible polyurethane tubing with a 1/8” outside diameter and .066” inside diameter which comes in 50 foot lengths in a variety of colors.
In need of inexpensive 1/4" I.D tubing (preferably rigid, but not required) for one time throw away use in inserting expansive plastic insulation into 8' deep panels. What do you recommend?
We would recommend looking at our LLDPE products. To ensure our recommendation would meet your application requirement, we would need to know how the tubing is retained on the device. Some tubing, including LLDPE does not have enough 'give' to work well on a barb type fitting so this could be very important.
I am looking for tubing to use in a peristaltic pump to deliver poultry vaccine. The vaccine is oil in water emulsion.

What is durometer?
Durometer is a measurement of the hardness of a material. Hardness may be defined as a material's resistance to permanent indentation. Developed by Albert F. Shore in the 1920's, the term durometer is often used to refer to the measurement as well as the instrument itself. It is typically used to measure the hardness in polymers, elastomers and rubbers. There are several scales of durometer. The two most common scales are shore A and shore D scales. The A scale is for softer plastics, while the D Scale is for harder ones. Rockwell R hardness is generally chosen for 'harder' plastics such as nylon and polypropylene. Often, durometer is confused with the flexibility of a material. Flexibility is a subjective characteristic, impacted not only by durometer but also by the bend radius (which is a function of wall thickness and material properties). In other words, a softer durometer does not always equate with higher flexibility. Freelin-Wade stocks 4 different polyurethane durometers: 70A, 85A, 90A and 95A. Do you have flexible tubing that is compatible with oil and able to withstand 80PSI with an outside diameter of 5/32"?
I'm looking for 1/4" OD tubing that can withstand 250°F. A dynamic bend radius of around 2" is required. Only moderate pressure is required, around 20-30 psi. Can you recommend something? I'm flexible on the tube OD and bend radius.
Our FEP tubing will certainly meet your requirements and depending on the material conveyed, our nylon tubing may also work at those low pressures. These items can be purchased directly on our site.
I am looking for a tubing that can be used in a computer water cooling setup. I will be using distilled water. There are issues with cheaper PVC tubing leeching plasticizer into the cooling system. Your Fre-thane looks promising, I assume it's plasticizer free. Are you able to make it in 7/16" ID X 5/8" OD, deep red?
Our Fre-thane tubing does not contain plasticizers; however, there are other “additives” that may affect your application. We have many customers using this product for similar applications as it is very flexible. We would recommend testing this and perhaps our Kynar PVDF tubing. We could produce either in the dimensions listed. Please advise a shipping address and UPS / FedEx account for samples of our smaller sized tubes.
What is the difference between Weld Spatter Resistant Tubing and Spatter Guard SRT?
Weld-Spatter Resistant Tubing is made by taking blue Fre-Thane 95A durometer polyurethane and jacketing it with a specially formulated weld-spatter resistant cover. The result is a jacketed tube that is safe from incidental contact with weld spatter. The outer cover base resin meets UL94VO requirements and offers strong insulating properties
Spatter Guard SRT is also made from a 94VO polyurethane resin which has been formulated to resist against weld spatter without the need of an outer jacket. Weld spatter resistant tubing cover is approximately .030” thick and does not adhere to the inner tube allowing the jacket to be easily skived back for fittings. Spatter Guard SRT does not require skiving since it doesn’t have a cover.
Do you stock all packaging sizes?
We do not 'stock' small quantities, however after extrusion, the tubing is put on the largest reel size available. When smaller orders come in, we cut the tubing from the larger packaging and fill the smaller quantity sizes.
I want to print a simple mark of some kind, for example a 1/16 inch diameter dot every 5/8 inch along the entire length of the tubing. Is this possible on your standard printing machines?
We are able to print a dot on the tubing we produce. We can also print text. We would need to see an image of what you need printed to make sure our printers have the capability of producing the image on the tubing. The cost of printing is dependent upon the type of image and the number of feet of tubing you would be purchasing.
I need tubing resistant to HF (hydrofloric acid).
Our Kynar tubing is compatible with this material.
Are Freelin-Wade hoses UL, CSA, and CE approved?
We do not have UL, CSA or CE listings on our products. However, many of our resins are compliant to certain UL requirements.
Could you confirm if your colored LLDPE tubing is UV stable
Our LLDPE tube does not have a UV Inhibitor added to the resin. LLDPE provides superior environmental stress crack resistance from a variety of sources including UV. Do you have polyurethane tubing that is 4mm ID and ~6mm OD. I need 12 line multi-bore all of the same tubing.
This is an item that we can custom produce for you as a flat MCR Ribbon (12 tubes, side by side and bonded). We would make this from our 6mm x 4mm 95A Polyurethane tube.
Our minimum purchase quantity on this would be 100 feet. And can be printed with all the same color or muliple colors.
Can your poly tubing 90A 1J-005-01 be used with push loc fittings
90A Durometer Polyurethane tubing has been used with push-in fittings but we suggest using barb fittings due to the softer Durometer of the tube. If you choose to use the tube with push-in fittings we strongly suggest testing the products to make sure you do not have retention or leakage issues.
Our 95A Durometer Polyurethane is rated for use with push-in fittings. The base resin is compliant with NSF51 but not with FDA requirements.
The comparably sized tube in 95A is our item 1J-152-01. I have attached catalog pages 8 through 10 so you can review the product specifications.
Does Freelin-Wade make clear PVC tubing (3/8\" ID, 1/2\" OD) with absolutely no printing on the tubing. What are the minimum order quantities?
YES! Our ½”OD x 3/8” clear PVC tube (item number 1J-705-10 for 100 feet or1A-705-10 for 500 feet).
